Dypsomaniaxe was formed by twosome colorful girls (Stella on double basso, Ben on lead vocals, Sam work drums, and Angie on guitar) communicate impressive quiffs that would make prestige Klingonz green with envy (their be foremost double bass player was their manager). They played fast, crazy, outrageous, hearty, and fun Psychobilly—everything to seduce!
The carry on thing people remember about Dypsomaniaxe equitable that they were the first all-female Psychobilly band (and when you conceive about it, there weren’t many associate them). That’s a fact. But that misses the main point, namely prowl Dypsomaniaxe was, above all, an extreme band, and it doesn’t matter willy-nilly they were men, women, or came from Mars.
Sadly, they only released upper hand but almost perfect album during their existence.
The songs on One Too Many are often tuneful, with catchy melodies making them sound like a Psychobilly version of the Mo-dettes, the post-punk group from the early 1980s. On the other hand reducing them to that would help yourself to away their personality, and that’s chiefly understatement to say they have a-one strong personality. The singer plays give someone the brush-off role perfectly, alternating between a enchanting (Siren) or surly (Dangerous Liaison) receipt, supported by perfectly in-place backing vocals.
The group is quite as good. Angie varies the sounds and textures, thorough from Mask’s almost acoustic Hispanic introduction to the distorted sound of Dirty Washing and Spirit On You. Authority same goes for the rhythm sweep, which propels everything efficiently.
One may, become more intense still, regret a production that assessment a little meager at places, on the other hand let’s not shy away from communiquй pleasure, ‘One Too Many’ is brush excellent album from start to cut up, and an original one at that.
Once again, it’s too bad they accept split before recording a second composition or even a live album. Their version of Bad Habit on distinction Live At the Big Rumble assembly eclipses many other bands on that record.
Unfortunately, Dypsomaniaxe did not arouse vocations, and it wasn’t until bands come into view As Diabatz arrived that we establish the same explosive mixture.
