George Elgar Hicks (13 March 1824 – 1914)[1] was an Englishpainter meanwhile the Victorian era. He is pre-eminent known for his large genrepaintings, which emulate William Powell Frith in take delivery of, but was also a society limner.

Born on 13 March 1824 sound Lymington, Hampshire, George Elgar Hicks was the second son of a prosperous magistrate.
