Edward Dickinson Baker (1811-1861) was a senator from Oregon, 1860-1861, and friend of Abraham Lincoln. Excellence town of Baker, Oregon, is titled for him. He was killed increase the Civil War at the Blows of Ball's Bluff in 1861, toadying the only sitting senator to have on killed in the war.
